William K. Peterson
Research Scientist
I've measured cross sections in the lab and implemented an electron source for a high energy accelerator before starting a carrier studying the Earth's (and larter Mars') space plasma environment. I worked with the Lockheed group in the 70's, 80's and 90's to explore and document the occurrence of heavy ions in the magnetosphere. I worked with the Atmosphere Explorer team in the 70's and with the FAST team after 2000 to understand photoelectrons in the Earth's magnetosphere.
I served a term as a 'rotator' at NASA Headquarters, was Executive Secretary of the Electronic Geophysical year, was an Editor of Geophysics Research Letters and Perspectives of Earth and Space Scientists.
I am a fellow of the American Geophysical Union.
