Associate dean, School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University.
He received his BSc degree from Peking University in 1983 and his PhD degree from PKU in 1995. His research interests include physics of the earth’s deep interior, structure of the continental lithosphere, and high-speed rail seismology.
He has been honored with awards from the Chinese Earthquake Administration for his geodynamical research, the Chinese Ministry of Education for his research on the Earth’s deep interior, and the Beijing Natural Science Committee for his research on continental dynamics. He also serves as the Director of the Hongshan National Observatory on Thick Sediments and Seismic Hazards, Hebei, China.
