He was born in 1982. He completed primary, secondary and high school education in Diyarbakır. He started medical education in Izmir Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and graduated in 2007. He worked as a general practitioner at Sinop Durağan State Hospital until the end of 2008.
In 2008, he started working in Diyarbakır Dicle University General Surgery Department. He completed his general surgery residency training in 2013 and started his professional life as a general surgery specialist.
He worked as a general surgery specialist in Hakkari Yüksekova State Hospital until the end of 2015. Since 2016, he has focused on proctological diseases (hemorrhoids, pilonidal sinüs, anal fissure and anal fistula) and laser treatment.
Dr. Ömer Lütfi Akgül has been working in Diyarbakır Genesis Hospital since 2015.
