Associate Professor at Yale
Prof. Eisaman is an Associate Professor with tenure at Yale University in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences and the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture. He is also the Co-Founder of Ebb Carbon, a startup based in San Carlos, California, that is commercializing ocean-based carbon dioxide removal (ocean CDR) and ocean acidification reversal using electrochemical ocean alkalinity enhancement.
He received a Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard in 2006 and an A.B. in Physics from Princeton in 2000. Prof. Eisaman has worked on a wide range of climate change solutions, and is broadly interested in how Earth’s natural processes can be leveraged and accelerated to minimize the worst effects of the climate crisis. His research is currently focused on ocean CDR, including: new approaches to ocean CDR; effects on marine ecosystems; establishing and improving methods for Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV); and hybrid approaches, especially the combination of ocean and geochemical CDR.
