The Maluku islands, known to possess rich biodiversity, are home to a
wide variety of plant and animal species. During a botanical exploration
in Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park, located on Halmahera Island, Musa
balbisiana Colla, an unrecorded wild banana, was identified. This
species had not previously been observed on the island. The results
showed a detailed description of the species, including the
distribution, habitat, color plates, and DNA barcodes.24 Sep 2024Submitted to Nordic Journal of Botany 26 Sep 2024Submission Checks Completed
