Janus van As holds an MBA, a BSc Hons in Plant Science, and a BEd in Natural Science. With a blend of administrative and educational expertise, Janus serves as Academic and Blended Learning Coordinator in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at the University of the Witwatersrand. At the forefront of fostering learning excellence, Janus leads numerous strategic initiatives, managing teams and showcasing prowess in curriculum development, learning technologies, blended learning, program management, staff empowerment, Health Systems Science, and student support. Janus's recent focus on enhancing the student experience underscores his commitment to transformative education. Janus's contributions encompass establishing Learning Technology Portfolios and assuming the role of change agent and innovator for curriculum renewal. Janus developed, coordinates, and teaches the BHSc Honours in Health Systems Science, with 4 streams; Health Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Leading Health Research. Janus actively participates on multiple boards and committees, currently playing a role in the renewal of the MBBCh curriculum.
