Author ProfileAbstract
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurologic diseases affecting people
of all ages, races, sex, social classes, and geographic locations.
Cardiac arrhythmias have been associated with patients with seizure
disorders and can be a common sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. We
present a case of a 74-year-old woman with altered level of
consciousness and agitation who was found to have non-convulsive status
epilepticus and complete AV block. She was successfully managed only
with dual antiepileptic medications. Diagnosis is best made with EEG and
ECG. In general, management is made by seizure medications, while
pacemakers are still a point of debate.
