Graduated from Lomonosov Universe in Moscow, Russia. PHD in geophysics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, in 1964. Affiliation in Space Research Institute Russian Academy of Sciences in 1967. Doctorate in physics in 1980. Elected in 1986 as full member of International Academy of Astronautics, basic scientist. Dr. Vaisberg was NRC Senior Research Associate at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in 1999 – 2000, and at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in 2000 –2002. Dr. Vaisberg joined the Instrumentation and Space Research Division of SwRI in August 2004 as staff scientist, returned in 2006 in Russia and working till now as staff scientist as lider of small group. Was PI of plasma experiments on first Mars satellites Mars-2, and -3 (1971), Mar- 5 (1974), first Venus satellites Venera-9, and -10 (1975), and on high-apogee Earth’s satellites Prognoz-1, -2, -7, -8, 10 (1972-1985), Interball-Tail (1995-2000). He was also Co-I of plasma wave experiments on Prognoz-8, and –10 and Vega –1 and –2 spacecraft, PI of dust experiment on Vega-1 and –2 spacecraft (1985-1986) and space plasma experiments on Interball solar wind-Earth mission in 1995-2000. Author of plasma experiment on BepiColombo mission and 3 experiment on preparing Moon missions. Has 3 decorations fom Russian government. Author of 242 scientific papers.
