Long QT Syndrome in the Newborn: Could the use of maternal tacrolimus
have facilitated the situation?
Abstract
Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is a serious condition that can cause sudden
cardiac death. Subsequently, a heterozygous mutation of KCNH2 was
identified. This has led to the hypothesis that the use of maternal
tacrolimus may cause LQTS or have an effect that may facilitate the
early occurrence of congenital LQTS.
