I received my B.S. in Meteorology (Summa Cum Laude) from the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Sciences (InSTEC), Havana, Cuba (2008-2013) and my Master Degree in Meteorology from the National Institute of Space Research (INPE), São José dos Campos, Brazil (2015-2017). During the Master, I investigated the impact of assimilating bending angle from GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) radio occultation (RO) data into the numerical weather prediction system of the Center for Weather Forecast and Climate Studies (CPTEC). In March 2017, I started my P.h.D studies also at INPE, with expected graduation in March 2021. The goal of my doctorate thesis is to assess the impact of the convective-scale assimilation of a higher density of GNSS RO data on the representation of deep convection processes in the Amazon.
