This work proposes a multi-target tracking and detection algorithm Focus-MOT based on feature refinement extraction fusion, t through the designed Field Enhancement Refinement Module and Information Aggregation Module, which effectively reduces the number of target ID switching.Jointly learns the Detector and Embedding model method becomes the mainstream of multi-target tracking and detection due to its fast detection speed, its Re-ID branch needs to use low-dimensional features and high-dimensional features to accommodate both large and small targets, however, its insufficient feature extraction leads to high ID_SW. Therefore this work aims to extract features of different levels for aggregation as a way to reduce the number of ID switching. The experimental results show a 2.7% improvement in MOTA and a 2300 times decrease in ID_SW relative to the results of the FairMOT algorithm on the MOT17 dataset.

The hybrid cascaded high-voltage direct-current (HC-HVDC) links is recently introduced for ultra-high voltage bulky power transmissions. However, as wind power becomes more prevalent, the grid is gradually weakened and will faces voltage stability issues. This paper proposes a coordinated reactive power control strategy for HC-HVDC links to enhance the voltage stability of AC bus. Firstly, the impact of HC-HVDC on the static voltage stability of the AC bus is studied by the voltage sensitivity coefficient. Then, the limitation of reactive power capability of modular multilevel converter (MMC) in the hybrid cascaded structure is identified. Based on the analysis results, a coordinated reactive power control strategy based on adaptive voltage droop is proposed. In the strategy, the DC voltage ratio is regulated according to the fluctuation degree of the AC bus voltage to adjust the reactive power of HC-HVDC, which realized the dynamic voltage support for the AC bus. Finally, electromagnetic simulations in PSCAD/EMTDC are performed, and the results validate the theoretical findings and the effectiveness of the control strategy.

We introduce a novel method to determine cost-optimized Active Power Curtailment (APC) of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) considering weather dependent Dynamic Line Rating (DLR). A new formulation of the Security-Constrained Optimal Power Flow (SC-OPF) is developed and applied in a case study. We demonstrate the reduction of the required preventive APC in the (N -0) case for (N -1) secure grid operation due to the consideration of thermal inertia of overhead power lines. Considering thermal inertia allows relying on curative APC that is activated only after an (N -1) situation occurs. The overhead power line temperature, calculated with the temperature dependent power flow, acts as a new limit for line loading and releases unused transmission reserves. The power system can be utilized to a greater extent, with a reduced demand for congestion management.

Low and medium speed magnetic levitation traffic with short power supply distance and complex grounding network structure, prone to power supply rail grounding faults. However, the existing fault location methods do not accurately locate the fault point, which in turn makes it difficult for the protection device to act to cut off the fault. To address the above problems, this paper builds a dynamic simulation model of the low and medium speed magnetic levitation power supply rails to study the distribution characteristics of the fault traveling waves after a ground fault occurs in the power supply rails, and analyses the generation mechanism of the traveling wave spectrum through formula calculation. The first step is to determine whether an earth fault has occurred by analysing the difference in current between the positive and negative busbars. Secondly, the direction of the current difference between stations is compared to locate the faulty section. Finally, the fault distance is calculated from the frequency difference of the fault voltage at the double-ended station. Through simulation, the method is validated to be unaffected by fault location, fault transition resistance, noise interference, and is applicable to short circuit faults caused by lightning strikes, and the ranging error always remains within 20m. The method has strong robustness, can effectively solve the problem of protection misoperation and accurately locate the fault point. It is suitable for low and medium speed magnetic levitation transportation power supply rail ground fault.

During the cyclic operation process of hydraulic excavators, based on manual experience, issues such as low work efficiency and high energy consumption can cause significantly high wearing of the joints of the excavator; this markedly affects the service life of the excavator. To solve such issues, we propose a secondary trajectory optimization method based on time–energy consumption that enables the excavator to conduct smooth, efficient, and low-energy-consumption work. Considering different weight coefficient values and obtaining the optimal time–energy trajectory, we compare the above-mentioned results with those obtained through skilled manual operation of hydraulic excavators. The experimental results demonstrate that through reasonable and effective planning of each joint movement, the large jerk that occurs during joint movement processes may be effectively avoided, the working efficiency of the excavator is improved, unnecessary energy consumption is reduced, and the excavator can operate autonomously under stable conditions. These results verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Capacity crunch has become critical in recent years as commercial communication systems approach their theoretical data rate limits. This work presents a low-complexity digital backpropagation (DBP) implementation approach based on step size distribution that uses a binary logarithmic step size method to achieve high data rate optical transmission. The proposed scheme shows performance improvements (∆Q) of 2.36 dB, 1.19 dB, and 0.71 dB over linear compensation, constant step size DBP, and logarithmic step size DBP techniques in a 2400 km 112 Gbit/s DP-16QAM system, respectively. At 13 dBm, a high performance (Q) of 10.9 dB (BER = 2.25×10-4) is achieved, above the 3.80×10-3 hard-decision forward error correction (HD-FEC) limit, using the proposed scheme. Also, the allowable transmission distance is extended by 960 km at the HD-FEC limit over the linear compensation technique. The optimization achieves a 38% savings in the number of DBP calculation steps compared to the constant step size DBP, which considerably reduces the computational cost since a few steps are required for effective nonlinearity compensation.

The aggregation of the remaining battery capacity of EVs can be used as distributed energy storage to participate in electricity market auxiliary services in the form of V2G, however, their reliability is affected by the uncertainty of EV travel. In this paper, we consider the uncertainty of EV load response and propose a resolution method for quantifying the reliability of EV aggregation capacity in the day-ahead market. The paper first classifies EV users by analyzing historical charging data. Secondly, based on the composite Poisson process, the V2G capacity and reliability model for the aggregator’s participation in the day-ahead auxiliary service bidding are proposed and validated using actual data. Based on this model, aggregators can decide the power of V2G bidding for any time slot on day t+1 according to the reliability requirements of the standby market for the standby capacity contracted before that day. Finally, this paper organically combines PV and EV aggregators in the microgrid and uses genetic algorithms to optimize the simulation of the microgrid voltage operation state under different scenarios in the IEEE 33-node system. The results show the effectiveness of the coordinated optimization scheme of PV and EV clusters for the optimization of microgrid voltage.

Partial discharge (PD) diagnostics test is reliable for estimating insulation health conditions in power system components. During laboratory PD diagnostics, the effect of harmonic components in the voltage waveform generated by variable frequency drives (VFD) fed electric motors (EMs) is often overlooked. However, these harmonic components can cause significant distortion in the applied voltage waveform. As VFD-fed EMs operate at low speeds, the harmonic concentration in the voltage increases. It has been found that PD activity in VFD-fed EM is significantly affected by the addition of harmonic components in the voltage, thus making it necessary to consider their impact when performing true PD diagnostics. This paper investigates the influence of voltage harmonic distortion produced in VFD-fed EM on PD severity and the subsequent insulation degradation. Eight VFD-fed EM are used to study PD behavior under different levels of harmonic pollution. The PD characteristics, such as inception voltage, pulse repetition rate, accumulated apparent charge, average discharge current, discharge power, and quadratic rate, are determined. With the help of probability distribution functions, the chance of PD activity and its severity at various voltage harmonic levels are estimated. The proposed technique can be used to plan maintenance activities that ensure reliability for industrial applications dealing with voltage harmonic distortion.

Large penetration of renewable energy sources into the power grid has increased the complexity of power system operation and greatly reduced the ability of the system to withstand large disturbances. The frequent occurrence of voltage instability problems in the power grid has brought new challenges to the assessment of transient stability analysis of the power system. To achieve fast and accurate assessment of transient voltages, a transfer learning-based transient voltage stability assessment with small samples is proposed, introducing a domain transfer learning approach, embedding a cooperative attention mechanism in the residual network during the feature extraction stage to capture long-range correlations between features, and using adversarial approaches to reduce the differences between samples from different data sets, using the source domain to guide the target domain for network training to improve model's evaluation capability when the number of samples is insufficient, enhance the generalisation performance of the network, and effectively improve the performance of real-time power system transient voltage stability evaluation in the absence of sufficient historical data. Testing on an improved New England 39-node system validates the superiority of this method in transient voltage stability assessment and provides a new approach to practical field transient voltage stability assessment.

With the increasing demand for electricity, power distribution utilities must provide an efficient and appropriate Service Restoration (SR) strategy to restore customers as soon as possible after power outages. The heuristic SR algorithm presented in this article is a bi-stage algorithm that initially re-energizes some loads quickly by remote-controlled switches in the first stage and then proceeds to restore the rest of the network in the second stage. In addition to solving the restoration problem in a bi-stage algorithm, determining the optimal Switching Sequences (SSs) and applying the Energy Not Supplied (EENS) as objective function included in this study. Also, taking into account the time of occurrence of the failure and the daily load curve, the position of the maintenance team, load transfer capability and the traffic conditions of the network has increased the attractiveness and practicality of the proposed method. The heuristic SR algorithm was applied on a standard IEEE 69-bus system in various scenarios. The results indicated a significant difference in the solutions of the problem and the ENS in different scenarios. Finally, it was found that using this heuristic method would lead to optimal, accurate, and applicable solutions for SR in distribution networks.

Abstract: The consumption of coal in winter heating period in northern China is large, and the combustion generates greenhouse gases that pollute the environment. At the same time, wind abandonment is widespread in northern China, causing waste of energy. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes to apply clean energy heating and waste wind power generation for heating, and build a multi-objective optimal dispatching model under the goal of considering Customer satisfaction and operating costs. Finally, taking a region in the north of China as an example, the improved genetic algorithm is used to solve the model. The example results verify that the use of clean energy heating can increase the wind power consumption space and reduce the heating cost in winter.
