The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed lives across the world. In the UK there has been a public health driven policy of population ‘lockdown’ that had enormous personal and economic impact. We compare UK response/outcomes including excess deaths with European countries with similar levels of income/healthcare resources. We calibrate estimates of the economic costs as different %loss in GDP against possible benefits of avoiding life years lost, for different scenarios where local COVID-19 mortality/comorbidity rates were used to calculate the loss in life expectancy. We apply quality-adjusted life years (QALY) value of £30,000 (maximum under NICE guidelines). The implications for future lockdown easing policy in the UK are also evaluated. The spread of cases across European countries was extremely rapid. There was significant variation both in severity and timing of both implementation and subsequent reductions in social restrictions. There was less variation in the trajectory of mortality rates and excess deaths, which have fallen across all countries during May/June 2020. The average age at death and life expectancy loss for non-COVID-19 was 79.1 and 11.4years respectively while COVID-19 were 80.4 and 10.1years; including for life-shortening comorbidities and quality of life reduced this to 5QALY for each COVID-19 death. The lowest estimate for lockdown costs incurred was 50% higher than highest benefits from avoiding the worst mortality case scenario at full life expectancy tariff and in more realistic estimation they were over 50 times higher. Application to potential future scenarios showed in the best case a QALY value of £220k (7xNICE guideline) and in the worst-case £3.7m (125xNICE guideline) was needed to justify the continuation of the lockdown. The evidence suggests that the costs of continuing severe restrictions in the UK are so great relative to likely benefits in numbers of lives saved so that a substantial easing in restrictions is now warranted.

Background: Covid-19 is an extremely contagious illness caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2) virus. Although this disease primarily involves pulmonary tissue, rapidly advancing research has established cardiac involvement in Covid-19 patients. Objective: This systematic review article aimed to compile and illustrate clinical characteristics, diagnostic findings, management, and outcomes manifesting in myocarditis linked with Covid-19. Methods: A literature search was accomplished for published eligible articles with MEDLINE/PubMed and Embase databases. All eligible case reports and case series were included from around the world without any language restrictions. For this review, inclusion criteria were laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection cases reporting a diagnosis of acute myocarditis. Results: Data from 41 studies describing myocarditis in 42 Covid-19 patients was obtained. The median age of these patients was 43.4 years, with 71.4% of them being male. Fever was the most prevalent presenting symptoms seen in 57% of patients. Hypertension was the most pervasive comorbidity accompanying these patients. Cardiac biomarkers troponin and Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) were raised in almost 90% and 87% of patients, respectively. Electrocardiogram findings were Non-specific and included ST-segment and T-wave changes. The most prevalent histopathological feature appreciated was diffuse lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrates. Antivirals and corticosteroids were the most frequently used medications. About 38% of patients also needed vasopressor assistance. Out of 42 patients, 67% recovered, and eight died. Conclusion: Due to the risk of a sudden worsening of patients conditions and myocarditis association with considerable mortality and morbidity, a knowledge of this cardiac complication of Covid-19 disease is crucial for healthcare professionals.

Background: The rapid spread of COVID-19 has placed tremendous strain on the American healthcare system. Few prior studies have evaluated the well-being of or changes to training for American resident physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to study predictors of trainee well-being and changes to clinical practice using an anonymous survey of American urology residents. Methods: An anonymous, voluntary, 47-question survey was sent to all ACGME-accredited urology programs in the United States. We executed a cross-sectional analysis evaluating risk factors of perception of anxiety and depression both at work and home and educational outcomes. Multiple linear regressions models were used to estimate beta coefficients and 95% confidence intervals. Results: Among approximately 1,800 urology residents in the USA, 356 (20%) responded. Among these respondents, 24 had missing data leaving a sample size of 332. Important risk factors of mental health outcomes included perception of access to PPE, local COVID-19 severity, and perception of susceptible household members. Risk factors for declination of redeployment included current redeployment, having children, and concerns regarding ability to reach case minimums. Risk factors for concern of achieving operative autonomy included cancellation of elective cases and higher level of training. Conclusions: Several potential actions, which could be taken by urology residency program directors and hospital administration, may optimize urology resident well-being, morale, and education. These include advocating for adequate access to PPE, providing support at both the residency program and institutional levels, instituting telehealth education programs, and fostering a sense of shared responsibility of COVID-19 patients.

Context: Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MISC) is a newly and rising condition, particularly in SARS-CoV-2 high transmission communities. Objective: Analyze current literature and reported cases of MISC, concerning its clinical spectrum, complications associated, therapeutic strategies and distinguishing features of other clinical syndromes. Data Sources: Extensive literature research was performed in MEDLINE (trough PubMed), Scopus and Web of Science from December 2019 to December 2020.Study Selection: First analysis included all article titles and abstracts screening to identify relevant studies and second analysis included a full text screening of previous selected studies. Eligibility was assessed independently by two authors and disagreements were resolved by discussion and consensus. Data Extraction: Data were extracted on MISC definition, demographic data, clinical features, diagnostic tests, laboratory analysis andimaging, therapeutical approach and outcomes. Results: Common symptoms included: gastrointestinal (70%), rash (57%) and cardiovascular (52% with shock). Notable differences with Kawasaki Disease were identified including age, clinical presentation and cardiac involvement. 30% presented positive SARS-CoV-2 2 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and 51% positive serologies. 62% received intravenous immunoglobulin and 42% glucocorticoids. 62% required intensive care, 21 children died (<2%). Severe presentations were associated with neurological symptoms, hepatitis and acute kidney injury. Limitations: As a recently documented disease, there was limited prospective and follow-up studies, therefore disregarding long-term sequelae and prognosis. Conclusions: MISC raises concern on its severe cardiac involvement at presentation, with frequent intensive care and immunomodulatory therapy need. Short term outcomes seem to be favorable, with cardiac disfunction recovery and low mortality rates.

Introduction: Due to the high mortality of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), there are difficulties in the managing emergency department. We investigated whether the d-dimer/albumin ratio (DAR) and fibrinogen/albumin ratio (FAR) predicts mortality in the COVID-19 patients.Methods: A total of 717 COVID-19 patients who were brought to the emergency department from March to October 2020 were included in the study. Levels of d-dimer, fibrinogen, and albumin, as well as DAR, FAR, age, gender, and in-hospital mortality status of the patients were recorded. The patients were grouped by in-hospital mortality. Statistical comparison was conducted between the groups.Results: Of the patients included in the study, 371(51.7%) were male, and their median age was 64 years (50–74). There was in-hospital mortality in 126 (17.6%) patients. The area-under-the-curve (AUC) and odds ratio values obtained by DAR to predict in-hospital mortality were higher than the values obtained by the all other parameters (AUC of DAR, albumin, d-dimer, FAR, and fibrinogen: 0.773, 0.766, 0.757, 0.703, and 0.637, respectively; odds ratio of DAR>56.36, albumin<4.015, d-dimer>292.5, FAR>112.33, and fibrinogen>423: 7.898, 6.216, 6.058, 4.437, and 2.794, respectively). In addition; patients with concurrent DAR>56.36 and FAR>112.33 had an odds ratio of 21.879 with respect to patients with concurrent DAR<56.36 and FAR<112.33.Conclusion: DAR may be used as a new marker to predict mortality in COVID-19 patients. In addition the concurrent high DARs and FARs were found to be more valuable in predicting in-hospital mortality than either separately.Keywords: Covid-19, D-dimer, Fibrinogen, Serum Albumin, in-Hospital Mortality

Background The COVID-19 pandemic has led to radical political control of social behaviour. The purpose of this paper is to explore data trends from the pandemic regarding infection rates/policy impact, and draw learning points for informing the unlocking process. Methods The daily published cases in England in each of 149 Upper Tier Local Authority (UTLA) areas were converted to Average Daily Infection Rate(ADIR), an R-value - the number of further people infected by one infected person during their infectious phase with Rate of Change of Infection Rate(RCIR) also calculated. Stepwise regression was carried out to see what local factors could be linked to differences in local infection rates. Results By the 19th April 2020 the infection R has fallen from 2.8 on 23rd March before the lockdown and has stabilised at about 0.8 sufficient for suppression. However there remain significant variations between England regions. Regression analysis across UTLAs found that the only factor relating to reduction in ADIR was the historic number of confirmed number infection/000 population, There is however wide variation between Upper Tier Local Authorities (UTLA) areas. Extrapolation of these results showed that unreported community infection may be >200 times higher than reported cases, providing evidence that by the end of the second week in April, 29% of the population may already have had the disease and so have increased immunity. Conclusion Analysis of current case data using infectious ratio has provided novel insight into the current national state and can be used to make better-informed decisions about future management of restricted social behaviour and movement.

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the ABO and Rh blood group distribution and clinical characteristics in patients with Covid-19. Materials and Methods: The clinical characteristics and blood groups of 1667 patients who were hospitalized due to Covid-19 (with a positive PCR test) between 16 March and 10 July were reviewed cross-sectionally.. Results: When blood groups of patients diagnosed with Covid-19 and control group were compared, it was observed that there was increase in the number of Covid-19 patients with blood groups A and AB, decrease in the number of Covid-19 patients with blood group O, a statistically significant increase in the number of individuals with blood group A in Covid-19 patients compared to healthy individuals, and almost significant increase in the number of Covid-19 patients with blood group AB and a very significant decrease in the number of Covid-19 patients with blood group O. Conclusion: Our study has found that having blood group O may be protective, that blood group A may have greater susceptibility to the disease, but this does not affect the course of the disease and is not associated with mortality.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to determine the level of attention between shifts and to make recommendations about the regulation of shifts. Methods:The researchers applied the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Stroop color word interaction test (SCWI) in 72 intensive care workers working in different shifts. Result: The study included a total of 72 participants, including 30 (43.3%) females and 42 (58.3%) males. There were statistically significant differences between the groups in the sub-items of the HAM-D and SCWI test (Table 3). There was a significant elongation in the night shift employees at all times within the SCWI sub-items. A significant height in the number of errors and corrections in the cards applied in the continuation of the test was also determined in the night shift group. Conclusion: This study revealed a significant decrease in the level of attention in the night-shift compared to the day-shift. This increase in attention deficit may also be a preventable cause of increased mortality in the night-shift What is already known about this topic? • Mortality rates in intensive care units are higher than in other clinics. What this paper adds? • Our study reported significantly poor results of the SCWI test in the night-shift compared to the day-shift. The implications of this paper: • This study revealed a significant decrease in the level of attention in the night-shift compared to the day-shift. We believe that it will be beneficial to shorten the shift times, to keep the number of patients per staff at international standards, to set active rest periods and to plan personnel and hours to reduce the lack of attention observed in the night shift. OBJECTİVE In this study, we aim to investigate the thoughts and attitudes of individuals towards the future COVID-19 vaccine. METHODS This descriptive study was carried out on the web between 10/06/2020 - 10/07/2020. The sample constitutes all individuals above 18 years of age using social media and smartphone. The e-survey form was shared by the researchers via the web for a month, and those who completed the survey were included in the study and formed the sample of the research. RESULTS 759 were participated. 49.7% of the participants stated to be vaccinated; 38.4% of them stated to be vaccinated their children against COVID-19; if the vaccine for COVID-19 is developed. The request for the COVID 19 vaccine had relationship with gender, occupation, health insurance, anxiety level, having children, willing to get vaccinated for their children. “Afraid of the side effects of vaccine”, “don’t think it can be reliable as it will be a new vaccine” and “COVID-19 infection is a biological weapon and the vaccine will serve those who produce this virus” were the most common reasons for rejection of vaccine. CONCLUSION In our study afraid of the side effects of vaccine and not thinking it can be reliable as it will be a new vaccine is the most reasons of indecision and rejection about COVID 19 vaccine. In order for the future COVID 19 vaccination campaign to not fail, media, politicians, healthcare professionals should closely follow the vaccination development processes, inform the public transparently and consider public’s concerns.

ABSTRACT Aim: To investigate the effect of COVID-19 on sexual dysfunction in women. Materials and Methods: The women diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized at a tertiary hospital were included. They completed the Introductory Data Form, the Female Sexual Function Index-(FSFI), and the Short Form-36 Quality of Life Scale (SF-36). Results: 15 women between the ages of 19-49 who completed the treatment protocol, discharged at least 14 days before, and who had not been diagnosed as sexual dysfunction sexually active earlier were included to the study. It was detected that weekly sexual intercourse before and after COVID-19 significantly differed (p=0.047). The frequency of relationships decreased statistically after COVID-19. The mean value of the FSFI satisfaction score differs from COVID-19 before and after diagnosis (p=0.012). The mean satisfaction score before COVID-19 was 3.47, and after COVID-19 was 2.93. The score of the subgroups of FSFI did not differ from COVID-19 before and after diagnosis (p>0.050). The median value of SF-36 pain differs from COVID-19 before and after diagnosis (p=0.008). Conclusion: it was concluded that the frequency of sexual intercourse, sexual satisfaction in women decreased after COVID-19 disease, and the quality of life scores did not change in a statistically significant way.

BACKGROUND Hypoalbuminemia is frequently observed in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection although its underlying mechanism and relationship with clinical outcome still need to be clarified. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated in patients with COVID-19 hospitalized at the Fatebenefratelli-Sacco Hospital in Milan, the prevalence of hypoalbuminemia, its association with the severity of COVID-19, with the levels of C-reactive protein, d-dimer and interleukin-6 and with clinical outcome over a follow-up period of 30 days. Urinalysis was evaluated in a subgroup of patients. RESULTS Serum albumin levels < 30 g/L were found in 105/207 (50.7%) patients at hospital admission. Overall, the median albumin value was 29.5 g/L (IQR 25-32.8). A negative association was found between albumin levels and severity of COVID-19 (p<0.0001) and death (p=0.003). An inverse correlation was observed between albumin and both C-reactive protein and D-dimer at hospital admission (r = -0.487 and r = -0.479, respectively; p< 0.0001). Finally, a positive correlation was found between albumin levels and eGFR (r= 0.137; p=0.049). Proteinuria was observed in 75% of patients with available data and it did not differ between patients with hypoalbuminemia and those with albumin > 30 g/L (81% and 67%, respectively; p=0.09). CONCLUSION In patients with COVID-19 hypoalbuminemia is common and observed in quite an early stage of pulmonary disease. It is strictly associated with inflammation markers and clinical outcome. The common finding of proteinuria, even in the absence of creatinine increase, indicates protein loss as a possible biomarker of local and systemic inflammation worthwhile to evaluate disease severity in COVID-19.

Background: An emerging body of evidence has highlighted the protective role of spirulina in human health. Thus, we conducted a randomized controlled trial to discern the effects of spirulina supplementation on anthropometric indices, blood pressure, sleep quality, mood, fatigue status, and quality of life among ulcerative colitis patients. Methods: Eighty participants with ulcerative colitis were randomly allocated to receive, either, 1 g/day (two 500 mg capsules) spirulina (n=40) or placebo (n=40), in a clinical trial for eight weeks. Dietary intake, physical activity, sleep quality, mental health, fatigue status, and quality, were assessed for each participant at baseline and trial cessation. Anthropometric indices and blood pressure were also assessed. Results: Seventy-three participants completed the intervention. Our results revealed that spirulina supplementation significantly reduced sleep disturbances (p=0.03), while no significant changes occurred in the sleep quality score or other sleep parameters, vs. the placebo group (p> 0.05). Furthermore, a significant reduction in stress score (p=0.04) and increase in quality of life (p=0.03) was detected, but not anxiety, depression, or fatigue scores (p> 0.05). Additionally, anthropometric indices and blood pressure did not significantly change (p> 0.05). Conclusion: An improved quality of life was observed among ulcerative colitis patients following spirulina supplementation, which could be attributed to improved sleep disturbance and stress status. Further clinical studies, with longer duration interventions and suitably powered sample sizes, are necessary to p elucidate the veracity of our findings.

Objective: The aim of this study is to find out the potential risk factors including Charlson Comorbidity index (CCI) score associated with death in COVID-19 cases hospitalized due to pneumonia and try to find a novel COVID-19 mortality score for daily use. Methods: All patients diagnosed as confirmed or probable COVID-19 pneumonia whom hospitalized in our Chest Diseases Education and Research Hospital between March 11, 2020 and May 15,2020 were enrolled. The optimal cut-off values, sensitivity and specificity values and odds ratios to be used in mortality prediction of the novel scoring system created from these parameters were calculated by ROC analysis according to the area under the curve and Youden index. Results: Over 383 patients (n:33 deceased, n:350 survivors) univariate and multivariate regression analysis showed that CCI and lymphocyte ratio were prognostic factors for COVID-19 related mortality. Using this analysis, a novel scoring model CoLACD (CoVID-19 Lymphocyte ratio, Age, CCI score, Dyspnea) was established. The cut-off value of this scoring system, which determines the mortality risk in patients, was 2.5 points with 82% sensitivity and 73% specificity (AUC = 0.802, 95% CI 0.777-0.886, p <0.001). The risk of mortality was 11.8 times higher in patients with a CoLACD mortality score higher than 2.5 points than patients with a score lower than 2.5 (OR = 11.8 95% CI 4.7-29.3 p <0.001). Conclusion: This study showed that by using the CoLACD mortality score, clinicians may achieve a prediction of mortality in COVID-19 patients hospitalized for pneumonia.

Vaccination against the COVID-19 virus began in December 2020 in the UK and is now running at 5% population/week. High Levels of social restrictions were implemented for the third time in January 2021 to control the second wave and resulting increases in hospitalisations and deaths. Easing those restrictions must balance multiple challenging priorities, weighing the risk of more deaths and hospitalisations against damage done to mental health, incomes and standards of living, education outcomes and provision of non-Covid-19 healthcare. Weekly and monthly officially published values in 2020/21 were used to estimate the impact of seasonality and social restrictions on the spread of COVID-19 by age group, on the economy and healthcare services. These factors were combined with the estimated impact of vaccinations and immunity from past infections into a model that retrospectively reflected the actual numbers of reported deaths closely both in 2020 and early 2021. It was applied prospectively to the next 6 months to evaluate the impact of different speeds of easing social restrictions. The results show vaccinations are significantly reducing the number of hospitalisations and deaths. The central estimate is that relative to a rapid easing, the avoided loss of 57,000 life years from a strategy of relatively slow easing over the next 4 months comes at a cost in terms of GDP reduction of around £0.4 million/life-year loss avoided. This is over 10 times higher than the usual limit the NHS uses for spending against Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALYs) saved. Alternative assumptions for key factors affecting give significantly different trade-offs between costs and benefits of different speeds of easing. Disruption of non-Covid-19 Healthcare provision also increases in times of higher levels of social restrictions. In most cases, the results favour a somewhat faster easing of restrictions in England than current policy implies.

Background: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an accessible and widely used biomarker. NLR may be used as an early marker of poor prognosis in patients with COVID-19. Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. Observational studies that reported the association between baseline NLR values (i.e. at hospital admission) and severity or all-cause mortality in COVID-19 patients were included. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale (NOS). Random effects models and inverse variance method were used for meta-analyses. The effects were expressed as odds ratios (OR) and their 95% confidence intervals (CI). Small study effects were assessed with the Egger’s test. Results: Twenty studies, 19 cohorts and one case-control were included. An increase of one unit of NLR was associated with a higher odds of COVID-19 severity (OR 6.6, 95% CI: 4.71 - 7.19; p<0.001) and higher odds of all-cause mortality (OR 12.7, 95% CI: 1.32, 123.36; p=0.025). No differences were found in subgroup analyses by study design. The subgroup analysis of the studies, by country of origin, showed that the strength of the association between NLR and mortality was greater in Chinese studies (OR 31.1; 95%CI 19.57 to 49.3; p<0.0001) with moderate heterogeneity (I2 =43%). In our sensitivity analysis, we found that 7 studies with low risk of bias maintained strong association between both outcomes and the NLR values (severity: OR 4.7; 95% CI 3.5 to 6.34; p < 0.001 vs mortality: OR 31.1; 95% CI 19.57 to 49.3; p <0.0001), with low (I2 = 37%) and moderate (I2 = 43%) heterogeneity for severity and mortality outcomes, respectively. No publication bias was found for studies that evaluated effects for the severity of disease. Conclusions: Higher values of NLR were associated with severity and all-cause mortality in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has touched almost every continent. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is the final line of protection of healthcare workers (HCW). There is variation as well as controversy of infection control recommendation with regards to the use of PPE for HCW between institutions. The aim of this narrative review is to of examine and summarise the available evidence to guide recommendation for the safety of HCW. A literature search was conducted on the PubMed, MedLine, and Embase databases with the keywords “personal protective equipment”, “COVID 19”, “n95”, “health care worker”, and “mortality”. SARS-nCoV-2 is highly contagious. 3.5-20% of HCW has been reported to be infected. The mortality ranges from 0.53-1.94%. PPE is part of the measure within a package of prevention and control of pandemic, rather than a replacement of. Respirators are more effective than masks in preventing aerosol transmission to HCWs. Extended use may be considered if guidelines are adhered. PAPRs if available should be used in high risk procedures. Transmission of viruses is multimodal, and in the setting of a novel pathogen with high case fatality with no proven effective interventions, PPE that affords the best protection should be available to HCWs.

Introduction: Access to public healthcare is limited in Brazilian underserved areas, and long waiting lists remain for echocardiography (echo). We aimed to develop a tool to optimize indications and shorten waiting lists for standard echo in primary care. Methods: Patients in waiting list for standard echo were enrolled. For derivation, patients underwent a clinical questionnaire, simplified 7-view echo screening by non-physicians with handheld devices (GE-VSCAN), and standard echo (Vivid-Q) by experts. Two models were adjusted, one including clinical variables and other adding screen-detected major heart disease (HD). For validation, patients were risk-classified according to the clinical score. High-risk patients and a sample of low-risk underwent standard echo. Intermediate-risk patients first had screening echo, with a complete study if HD was suspected. Discrimination and calibration of the 2 models were assessed to predict HD in standard echo. Results: In derivation (N=603), clinical variables associated with HD were female gender, body mass index, Chagas disease, prior cardiac surgery, coronary disease, valve disease, hypertension, and heart failure, and this model was well calibrated with C-statistic=0.781. Performance was improved with the addition of echo screening, with C-statistic=0.871 after cross-validation. For validation (N=1,526), 227 (14.9%) patients were classified as low-risk, 1082 (70.9%) as intermediate-risk, and 217 (14.2%) as high-risk by the clinical model. The final model with 2 categories had high sensitivity (99%) and negative predictive value (97%) for HD in standard echo. Model performance was good with C-statistic=0.720. Conclusion: The addition of screening echo to clinical variables significantly improves the performance of a score to predict major HD.

Background: Radiofrequency ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is effective but hampered by pulmonary veins reconnection due to insufficient lesions. High power shorter duration ablation (HPSD) seen to increase efficacy and safety. This analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical benefits of HPSD in patients with AF. Methods: The Medline, PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases were searched for studies comparing HPSD and Low power longer duration (LPLD) ablation. Results: A total of seven trials with 2023 patients were included in the analysis. Pooled analyses demonstrated that HPSD showed a benefit of first-pass pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) [risk ratio (RR): 1.27; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.18–1.37, P < 0.001]. HPSD could reduce recurrence of atrial arrhythmias (RR: 0.70; 95% CI: 0.50–0.98, P = 0.04). Additionally, HPSD was more beneficial in terms of procedural time [Weighted Mean Difference, (WMD): −44.62; 95% CI, −63.00 to −26.23, P < 0.001], ablation time (WMD: −21.25; 95% CI: −25.36 to −17.13, P < 0.001), and fluoroscopy time (WMD: −4.13; 95% CI: −7.52 to −0.74, P < 0.001). Moreover, major complications and esophageal thermal injury (ETI) were similar between two groups (RR: 0.75; 95% CI: 0.44–1.30, P = 0.31) and (RR: 0.64; 95% CI: 0.17–2.39, P = 0.51). Conclusion: HPSD was safe and efficient for treating AF with clear advantages of procedural features, it also showed benefits of higher first-pass PVI and reducing recurrence of atrial arrhythmias compared with the LPLA. Moreover, major complications and ETI were similar between two groups.
